Participants will be selected on a competitive basis. Participation is limited to 40 college professors.

To be considered for selection, a faculty member must:

  • Teach full time in a tenure track position
  • Teach at an NATEF Master certified community college
  • hybridsHold an ASE Master and L1 Certification
  • Have a minimum of five years experience teaching automotive technology at the college level, with an emphasis in the electrical, performance and drive train systems
  • Agree to improve their curricula as a result of attending the Advanced Automotive Hybrid Technology Summer Institute
  • Participate in follow-up activities to improve student learning, including an assessment of the workshop conducted by the Miami University Applied Research Institute
  • Participate in five full days of learning


Each successful participant will receive a $500 stipend upon completion of the workshop.
